the beginning of a cultural reset
i started as a singer-songwriter using music to process grief…
it was the only music i knew how to make
i was raised between two wildly different worlds.
religion, rules, appearances, the pressure to do the right thing
chaos, wildness, trauma running through generations
my dad used to say:
‘one beer, one water’
his way of trying to stay tethered to something solid even when he couldn't find the balance himself
i've spent my whole life learning that same rhythm:
out in the chaos, back into the stillness. loud, then quiet. electric, then soft
when i went to south america something cracked open
montañita, ecuador: originally intended as a short stop and became a major creative turning point:
a place where performance, nightlife, collaboration and community transformed both my music and identity.
my first true leap into electronic sound made in montanita with producer Alex Del Mar (Chile) and beatboxer Gabriel Munoz (Ecuador)
i began experimenting with:
electronic production
freestyle vocals
documentary filmmaking
visual world-building
nightlife-inspired songwriting
collaborative creation
this became the foundation for everything that was to follow
i came home in december 2025 with two EPs, books in progress, long-form video work, and a recalibration still underway
through that recalibration i understood that i have two lanes of creative output:
external:
movement, the body, the party, release
internal:
grief, stillness, the aftermath, the marrow of it
what made it possible to take the next step wasn’t figuring out which version of me to put forward
but building a body of work big enough to hold all of it
i finally know how to hold both
